Yorkshire Sport Champions Healthier Futures for Youth with Sponsorship of ‘Re-imagine an Active Future’ Conference

In a significant movement towards fostering a healthier and more active future for children and young people, Yorkshire Sport Foundation has proudly announced its sponsorship of the “Re-imagine an Active Future” Conference.

The conference, scheduled to take place on Wednesday 27th March is set to be a dynamic platform for educators, headteachers, teachers, governors, well-being leads, SENCO’s, and enthusiasts dedicated to improving the physical health and well-being of the younger generation.

The conference promises an unmissable opportunity for attendees to hear from inspiring keynote speakers and gain valuable insights, ignite innovative ideas, and share best practices related to physical education, physical activity, and overall well-being within the educational landscape.

One of the standout features of the event is the series of workshops that will be conducted throughout the day. Among the distinguished workshop leaders is Alex Ogden, Education and School Sport Manager at Yorkshire Sport Foundation and Creating Active Schools National Lead. Alex’s workshop is designed to support new Primary PE Subject Leads, providing them with a deeper understanding of their role and prompting essential questions about their Physical Education, School Sport, and Physical Activity provision in schools.

The workshop will also serve as a valuable platform for schools to analyse their current provision and identify priority areas related to subject leadership, curriculum PE, and broader opportunities for students to be physically active.

Speaking about the sponsorship and the upcoming conference, Alex Ogden expressed enthusiasm, saying, “Yorkshire Sport are delighted to be supporting this event. Never has the need to shape an Active Future for our children been more appropriate and relevant than now. With less than half the nation’s children meeting physical activity targets, it is essential events such as this are created to bring together the school workforce in a supportive environment, to unpick how children can be supported to move more within school and the community it serves.”

The “Re-imagine an Active Future” Conference is poised to be a landmark event, contributing to the ongoing dialogue around the importance of physical activity in education. With the Yorkshire Sport Foundation’s sponsorship and a wide range of innovative workshops, attendees can look forward to a day filled with inspiration, practical knowledge, and a renewed commitment to creating an active and healthy environment for the next generation.
