School Games

School Games is funded by Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust, on behalf of a number of Government Departments.

The School Games is a framework delivered locally by a national network of School Games Organisers who collaborate with local education settings and School Partnerships to create meaningful opportunities for young people.

The School Games started in 2006 as a single annual multi-sport competition. In 2010, the School Games was expanded to include more localised competitions, from major county level events to smaller competitions within the same school.

The School Games events consist of four unique types of competition: intra-school competitions, local inter-school competitions, county provison/offer, and the School Games National Finals.

Keeping inclusive and competitive sport at the heart of schools.

As a local School Games Organiser and provider, we deliver competitive events and opportunities for children and young people across the borough of Doncaster.

The School Games helps us to deliver on our mission as a charity. We can provide more children and young people with more opportunities to be the best they can be, to be active, to compete and to achieve personal goals.

In the School Games Organiser role we not only coordinate competitions but we help schools to achieve the 60 active minutes by promoting healthy school initiatives to support young people to be physically active every day.

The programme also creates opportunities for young people to lead, by delivering leadership training through our leadership academy frameworks at both primary and secondary school levels.

Active Fusion help schools to evaluate their schools activity levels, encourage schools to be inclusive in their PE offer for pupils and support schools to achieve their nationally recognised School Games Mark.

As a Schools Games provider, we run competitions for schools all across Doncaster, across the year. Intra or Inter-school competitions lead to County Finals as well as a biennial National Finals event.
