Active Lunchtimes 

Through the School Games we have created a Doncaster ‘Active Lunchtimes’ programme designed to support schools to provide an active lunchtime opportunity ran by students for their peers. 

The aim of the programme is to: 
  • Develop pupils’ knowledge on the importance of being active at school and how to engage pupils.
  • Teach students how to deliver meaningful activities at lunchtime.
  • Pupils to develop their leadership and teamwork skills whilst being confident in their ability to run personal challenges and team activities to peers.
Who can access the training? 

The programme is designed for Years 5/6 and KS3 students who would like to either start their leadership journeys or develop their existing skills. 

What is included in the training? 

Schools can access a one off 2 – 2.5 hour training workshop for up to 30 pupils.  

What resources will you have access to? 
  • To at least 10 activity cards which the students will have prior knowledge of from the training.
  • Downloadable certificates.
  • Playground Leaders rota example.
  • Follow up support session during the school year if required.
How much is the training? 

FREE – there is no cost for schools.

  • 3 x Suitable delivery dates and times (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) 
  • Number of pupils and year group
