Kavisha’s Story: A Little Leap That Led to Big Joy

Kavisha, aged 5, joined De Warenne Fusion Camp for the first time during the Easter holidays. With both her parents at work, the camp was the perfect opportunity for her to stay active and have fun, especially since she loves playing sports!

First Throws and Favourite Games

Outside of camp, Kavisha is always on the move. She takes part in multi-skills sessions after school every Wednesday and enjoys racing around the garden with her sister. Whether she’s running around outside or winding down with her favourite TV shows, she’s full of energy and enthusiasm.

During her time at camp, Kavisha had an amazing experience. Her favourite activities included playing tig, setting up obstacle courses, and enjoying the sunshine outdoors. She especially loved basketball and dodgeball, where she was able to practise her throwing skills and noticed real improvement. Alongside all the fun, she also made some lovely new friends, making her first camp visit a truly memorable one.

Kavisha also tried football for the first time at camp and was pleasantly surprised by how much she enjoyed it, especially the thrill of scoring goals, which gave her a real sense of achievement. Reflecting on her experience, she proudly said, “Camp has made me better at PE and sports.”

Kavisha’s Camp Heroes

Kavisha states, “Camps make me feel good and excited because you get to do sports and make things like paper airplanes. I feel extremely happy and always want to try new games.” One of her favourite things is the amazing connection she’s built with the coaches. She especially enjoyed spending time with Nathan and Oliver, who always made her laugh and made sure everyone was included by creating fair, balanced teams. From exciting games to creative activities, Kavisha’s confidence, curiosity, and joy shone through.

A Quiet Start, A Bright Finish

Kavisha is eagerly anticipating her return to Fusion Camp, excited to once again enjoy playing football outdoors and reconnect with the friends she made during her previous experience. As one of the youngest participants, she initially appeared quite reserved, often staying close to her sister. However, despite her quiet nature, she consistently approached every activity with enthusiasm and a smile. Over the course of the week, her confidence flourished, she became more vocal each day and formed meaningful connections with older children, unfazed by the age difference.

The coaching team was particularly impressed by Kavisha’s positive attitude, her eagerness to participate in all activities, and the cheerful energy she brought to the group. She was a valued and supportive team member, and her presence greatly enriched the camp experience.
