During the May 2025 holidays, 7-year-old Jorge returned to Carcroft Camp excited and full of energy. Having attended previously, he couldn’t wait to get back and it’s clear why. Jorge thrives in active environments, and the camp gives him the perfect space to stay moving.
Making The Most of Every Moment at Camp
From energetic sports and team games to creative arts and crafts, Jorge makes the most of every moment at camp. While he enjoys the full variety of activities, it’s the team games that truly light him up. For Jorge, being part of a team isn’t just about playing, it’s about meeting new people, forming meaningful friendships, and building connections that stretch beyond the camp gates. These friendships bring him a real sense of joy, belonging, and confidence.
When Jorge first arrived at Fusion Camp, he was a little shy and only knew his younger sister. But by the end of the week, he had made so many new friends that everyone wanted him on their team. His energy and enthusiasm quickly became infectious, and his transformation was remarkable, from quiet observer to confident, active participant in every session.
Growing Through Guidance and Support
Jorge quickly built a fantastic connection with the coaches, who played a key role in making his camp experience so memorable. What stood out most to him was how the coaches didn’t just supervise from the sidelines, they got stuck in, joining the games and activities with the same energy and enthusiasm as the children.
This made Jorge feel truly included, and he found their involvement both exciting and fun. At camp our coaches go beyond simply leading sessions, they work hard to create an inclusive, engaging environment where every child feels part of the action. Their positive presence not only encourages participation but also inspires children like Jorge to step out of their comfort zones and try something new.
Beyond Excited for Future Camps
Jorge is already counting down the days until his next Fusion Camp, excited not only to reconnect with familiar faces but also to make new friends along the way. When asked what he loves most, Jorge said: “I love playing all the fun games at camp. The coaches have so much fun with us, it’s the best time!”
