Active Fusion launches free adult cycling sessions across Doncaster through Big Bike Revival Project
Active Fusion is helping adults across Doncaster discover the benefits of cycling through a new programme of free cycling sessions delivered in partnership with Yorkshire Bike Shack.
The Big Bike Revival project, funded by Cycling UK, has been created to support adults who want to learn to ride, build confidence on a bike, develop new skills or return to cycling after time away.
The programme will provide welcoming and supportive sessions for adults of all abilities, helping participants feel more comfortable cycling in their local community. Sessions will include opportunities to learn how to ride, improve cycling confidence and understand basic bike maintenance.
Cycling can provide a range of physical and mental wellbeing benefits, from improving fitness and independence to creating opportunities for people to connect with others and become more active in everyday life.
Jodie Roper, Communications Manager at Active Fusion, said:
“At Active Fusion, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits that being active can bring.
The Big Bike Revival project is a fantastic opportunity to support adults across Doncaster to develop their confidence, learn new skills and feel empowered to get on a bike.
We know that confidence can often be a barrier to cycling, whether someone is learning for the first time or returning after many years. Through these sessions, we want to create a friendly and supportive environment where adults can take that first step.”
Delivered alongside Yorkshire Bike Shack, the project combines cycling expertise with Active Fusion’s commitment to using sport and physical activity to create positive opportunities for local communities.
The sessions will take place across Doncaster at Carr Lodge Academy in Balby, Long Toft Primary School in Stainforth and Ivanhoe Primary Academy in Conisbrough.
Places are free and open to adults looking to improve their cycling skills, build confidence and enjoy being active within their local community.
