Jai’s Story: A First-Time Fusion Camper’s Journey of Growth and Fun
Jai, age 9, joined our Fusion Camp for the very first time this Easter. Having never attended a camp before, he was excited to give it a go, especially since he didn’t want to spend the holidays stuck at home with not much to do. Fusion Camp offered the perfect mix of fun, activity, and the chance to try something new.
A Big Basketball Fan
Jai often practices his basketball at home in the garden, even setting up his own mini challenges. He also enjoys helping out in the garden and prefers being outside in the fresh air over spending time on screens. That’s why camp was such a great fit, it gave him the opportunity to be outdoors, enjoy the spring weather, make new friends, and stay active. One highlight for Jai was learning to play kick rounders, a game he’d never tried before. It was a brand-new experience, and he jumped right in with enthusiasm!
Jai’s First Camp Experience
Although it was his first time attending, Jai was a little nervous at first. But his excitement soon took over, and he stepped out of his comfort zone, eager to try new games and stay active throughout the week. It’s always inspiring to see young children challenging themselves in new environments. At Fusion Camp, our coaches prioritise creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, where every child feels supported, encouraged, and confident enough to get involved in all activities.
Jai’s Experience with the Coaches
Jai built a great rapport with the coaches, sharing that “they’ve been really funny and made sure I was happy the whole time, I’ve had such a great experience.” He’s already looking forward to coming back, excited to reconnect with his new friends and the coaches who made his first camp so memorable. Whilst also being eager to play new games next time, alongside learning new ones.
Positive Attitude
It was wonderful to watch Jai’s confidence grow throughout his time at camp. Although he arrived feeling a little nervous, it didn’t take long for him to settle in, soon he was smiling from ear to ear and making plenty of new friends. The supportive environment played a big part in helping him feel at ease, and his positive attitude shone through from start to finish. Jai embraced every activity with enthusiasm and energy, and his upbeat spirit had a ripple effect, encouraging others around him to get involved too. It’s always amazing to see children like Jai thrive at camp, not only building confidence but also inspiring their peers along the way.
An Experience Tailored for Every Child
Each day at Fusion Camp is thoughtfully planned to offer variety, ensuring every child stays engaged and has the chance to take part in activities they enjoy. That’s what makes Fusion Camp so special for children like Jai, they’re at the heart of everything we do, and their experience is always our top priority.
