Girls Get Active

Through successful funding from Sport England, we have created the Girls Get Active Project which is being run in four areas across Doncaster.

The aims of the project are to:

Reduce inactivity amongst year 6 girls transitioning between primary and secondary school.

Train young females at secondary schools to support with the transition of year 6’s and run community-based activity sessions.

Increase the participants confidence, leadership and develop teamwork skills.

Create an opportunity to meet girls from other schools who will be transitioning to secondary school.

We are working with De Warrene Academy, Don Valley, Outwood Adwick and Trinity Academy and feeder schools in their local area to run the project.

The project will be run from Autumn 2020 to Autumn 2021 with the aim to work with over 500 pupils and 14 young leaders from the secondary schools.
